Pupils will be taught using the White Rose Scheme of learning. We use a small steps approach which have been planned in a logical and cumulative way which deepens understanding lesson by lesson. If necessary, small steps will be revisited or an intervention will take place before moving onto a new skill.
Each new skill will be taught using the CPA (concrete, pictorial and abstract) approach. The children will have access to a range of concrete objects.
Children will have the opportunity to answer fluency questions and use their understanding answering problem-solving and reasoning questions.
